The wife of the Governor, Dr. Nkechi Okorocha has called on Nigerians to imbibe the culture of praise and thanksgiving to God in order to attract peace, unity and blessings at all times.
Dr. Okorocha stated this at the Police Headquarters, Shell Camp, Owerri during the 2018 New year Inter-Faith Intercessory prayer and Thanksgiving Service organized by the Imo State Police command.
The Governor’s wife described the Imo State Commissioner of police, Mr. , Chris Ezike as a true child of God, and thanked him for his thoughtfulness.
She said the state is doing well because it is anchored on God and called on other states of the federation to borrow a leaf from the state to move the country forward.
Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ezike said the aim of the programme, which featured prayers for the state, leaders and Nigeria was to thank God for the achievement of the command last year especially in the relative peace and tranquility in the state and for the grace to do more in the new year.
Meanwhile, Dr. Nkechi Okorocha has urged oil companies operating in the state to maintain a cordial relationship with the communities where they operate as well as fulfill their cooperate social responsibility to them.
The Governor’s wife who made the call while flagging- off a free eye treatment organized by one of the oil companies operating at Izombe, Oguta LGA appreciated the company for the programme and urged it to extend such programme to the sister local Government area of Ohaji/Egbema and other communities in Oguta.
She said the state Government is passionate about the health and education of its citizenry and applauded the company for complementing the effort of the rescue mission administration.
