Host, Russia will battle Saudi Arabia in the opening match of the 2018 World Cup which kicks-off tomorrow at the Luzhniki Stadium Moscow.
The match will commence at four O’clock in the afternoon Nigerian time.
Sports Correspondent John Nwaogu reports that the match will be handled by Argentina’s referees while Video Assistant Referees from Italy, Argentina and Chile have also been assigned for the job.
The centre referee, Nestor Pitana officiated in his first International match in 2010 and was on duty in the Brazil 2014 World cup where he handled France quarter finals match against Germany.
He also officiated at the 2016 Olympic football tournament in Brazil and handled the semi-finals clash between Germany and Nigeria.
Meanwhile Super Eagles players and officials has arrived Russia in their Nigerian buba- and Sokoto uniform sown in Nigerian colours complemented with white bowler hat to the admiration of the crowd at the airport
The players had their first training session yesterday and another at five in the evening today.
The players will travel to Kaliningrad tomorrow venue of their opening group D match against Croatia on Saturday.
The match will be played inside the thirty-five thousand capacity Kaliningrad arena in Russia.
In a related development, Real Madrid has named the Spain National team Coach, Julen Lopetegui as the new manager of the club.
It would be recalled that the former Coach Zinedine Zidane resigned his appointment as the club’s manager last month few days after winning the champions league trophy.
