The State House of Assembly has introduced new plenary sessions in the task of law making.
The Speaker of the House, Chief Acho Ihim disclosed this at the floor of the House during the resumption of legislative functions for the year.
Chief Ihim said the novelty sessions would afford members of the constituencies, the opportunity of witnessing firsthand, the processes and mode of legislative task discharging, especially as they observe their member contributing live during the sessions.
He said they would be live in the twenty-seven Local Government areas as would be scheduled.
In the same vein, the House has set up committees to screen members of the reconstituted commissions in the State.
Reading a letter from the Cabinet Office, the Speaker identified the reconstituted committees and their proposed members as, Imo State Independent Electoral Commission, ISIEC, with Chief Ethel Ibebuchi as Chairman, State Universal Basic Education, SUBEB, with Barrister Juliet Okafor as Chairman, the Local Government Service Commission has Chief Mike Ndubuaku as Chairman, with Ngozi Ariguzo, Owerri Zone, Mrs. Nkiru Olehi, Okigwe Zone, and Ichie Norbert Okoro, Orlu zone as members.
Others are Primary Healthcare Development Agency with Mrs. Blessing Nwachukwu of Okigwe Zone as Chairman, ISOPADEC with Engr. Bernard Iroegbu as Chairman.
Meanwhile, the member representing Ohaji/Egbema state constituency, Chief Emma Orie joined the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Speaking on the occasion Chief Ihim called on the few members of the public who are yet to join the Party to do so without delay.
In a speech at the floor of the House, Chief Orie, member representing Ohaji/Egbema state constituency, said he had after wide consultations decided to align with the moving train.
