As Imo Citizens celebrate seven years anniversary of free and qualitative education in the State, the Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha is lauded for fulfilling his vision.
The Commissioner for Information, Professor Nnamdi Obiareri and his Primary and Secondary Education counterpart, Mrs. Gertrude Oduka gave the commendation on Orient FM Fact Finding and Audience Participatory Programme “Matters Arising”.
Professor Obiareri who enumerated the State Government’s achievements in the education sector said that his town Okigwe had recorded three hundred and forty persons who are beneficiaries of the free education programme at the tertiary level.
He noted that the State Government had build five hundred and five Schools and reconstructed one thousand, seven hundred and two dilapidated ones.
The Commissioner for Education, Mrs. Oduka disclosed that through the free education policy Imo State was leading other States in the Country in the education sector.
She restated the Ministry’s determination to maintain the lead by ensuring that only qualified teachers were employed.
Mrs. Oduka said that government was concerned about according Imo Children a better future thereby making them dependable citizens, through its free education programme at all levels.
Callers on the programme corroborated the Commissioners view and commended the Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha for his great vision.
