The Imo State Civil Guard is to Collaborate with the Task Force Committee on Illicit Drugs and other Related Matters to rid the state of illicit drugs.
The Commandant General of the Imo State Civil Guard, Chief Donatus Ejifugha said this when the Chairman of the Task force Committee on illicit Drugs and other Related Matters, Barrister Ijeoma Igboanusi and her officers paid him a familiarization visit .
Chief Ejifugha associated crimes such as kidnapping, armed robbery, prostitution and ritual killing to consumption of illicit drugs in addition to its negative health implications.
He lauded the Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha for appointing Barrister Igboanusi as the Chairman of the Task force describing her as hard working and experienced.
The Chairman of the Task force on Illicit Drugs and other Related Matters, Barrister Ijeoma Igboanusi said the visit was aimed at soliciting synergy with the commandant of the Imo Civil Guard and the personnel to eradicate illicit drugs in the state.
S he mentioned some of the drugs to include cocaine, cannabis otherwise known as Igbo and many others with their devastating effects on the health of the Youth.
Barrister Igboanusi commended the commandant General of Imo State Civil Guard, Chief Donatus Ejifugha for the able way he was handling the affairs of the Corps particularly for successfully fighting street trading illegal motor parks and the decongestion of roads in Owerri Municipality.
